As a family doctor and mom of two littles in the Albany, New York area running between daycare drop off, bedtime routines, and caring for my patients, I almost always start my Sunday meal prep with the same cozy comfort: our favorite butternut squash soup! It’s a family favorite (husband, toddler, and baby approved), chock […]

November is Open Enrollment season, a time that tends to bring more confusion and anxiety for many families in Albany, New York (and honestly, everywhere). The forms, the fine print, the endless “compare plan” tables…it’s a lot. And often requires a glossary just to understand what deductibles, premiums, in vs. out of network, and more […]

In our house, dinner needs to check a few boxes: flavorful enough for the adults, simple for busy weeknights, and flexible enough for our little ones’ taste buds. Because it’s easy to meal prep and tasty to boot, chicken shawarma has become a family favorite. I first came across the recipe on Ahead of Thyme […]

Back-to-school means backpacks, lunchboxes, and…germs. Lots of germs. Every parent in the Capital Region knows that the return to daycare and school often comes with more colds, coughs, and sick days for kids and the parents caring for them alike. While we can’t protect our kids (or ourselves) from every bug out there, we can […]

Very cute toddler with backpack that is too big!

Welcome!
I'm Dr. Meghan Monthie.

I’m a board-certified family physician who loves caring for families across multiple generations.
But the most important things to know about me can't be found on my resume.

I’m a wife to Phil (an attorney and Albany-area native), mom to two boys - Miles (a curious and delightfully feral toddler) and Henry (his smiley, chill little brother) - and dog mom to Daisy, our Havapoo pandemic pup.
I’m a (semi-retired?) marathoner and triathlete who will always choose cardio over strength training and still dreams of race days once the kids are older (and once my pelvic floor has fully recovered).

Originally from Maryland, I’ve spent my entire adult life in the Capital Region. My winters upstate significantly improved once I picked up skiing and years in New York have made a wimp out of me when it comes to southern humidity, but I’ll make an exception for a visit home with the promise of a proper blue crab feast.
I’m also a proud daughter and granddaughter of South Korean immigrants, whose courage and sacrifices shaped my own core values: perseverance, integrity, gratitude, and faith.

I’m a fellow human in a white coat who also knows mom guilt, late-night doom scrolling, skipped workouts, and all the beautiful chaos (and sleepless nights) of working motherhood.

I care for my patients the way I would care for my own family.
I love being a family doctor, and I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your family's personal doctor.

Let's grab a (virtual) coffee
