There are two kinds of weeknight dinners: 1)The ones that feel like survival and, 2) The ones that somehow make you feel like you have your life together. This is firmly in the second category. Recently, I came across this recipe for Steak Bites with Miso Ginger Dressing from The Woks of Life, and I […]

If you’ve ever searched for a “primary care doctor near me”, you probably weren’t just looking for someone with the right credentials. You were looking for someone who actually gets you. And yet, finding that kind of care can feel a little like looking for a needle in a haystack. What Actually Makes a Great […]

If there’s one thing I hear from patients (especially busy moms), it’s that mornings can feel like a sprint before the marathon of the day has even begun. Between getting kids out the door, answering work e-mails, and remembering who needed the library book today, the most important meal of the day can easily become […]

If you’re waiting to feel motivated to work out, set boundaries, or finally chase that goal you keep thinking about, I’ve got some bad news for you: you might be waiting a long time. Motivation is wonderful when it shows up, but it’s not very reliable. Most people assume that disciplined people simply have more […]

(This month’s recipe of the month was inspired by and adapted from a Korean BBQ wrap recipe by Instagram creator @jalalsamfit. We adjusted the marinade, lightened the sauce, and tweaked the slaw to fit our family’s taste and ingredients). We grew up eating Korean food on the daily in my Korean household growing up, and […]

If you’ve ever thought, “I guess this is just how healthcare is now,” I want you to know: it doesn’t have to be this way. Most people don’t leave rushed visits feeling uncared for. They leave feeling unfinished. Direct primary care gives us back the time and space for questions, patterns, follow through, and your […]

Longer, colder days can leave even the most resilient among us feeling low on energy, motivation, or mood – and yes, that includes me, your family doctor! If you’re prone to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or just feel the winter blues, you’re not alone. Winters in Albany, New York and the surrounding Capital Region can […]

This Feels Like Summer Bruschetta Pesto Chicken is a meal everyone can get behind. The flavors are fresh and bright, yet familiar – juicy chicken, melty mozzarella, and a tomato topping that tastes like summer: a much needed refresh in the throes of winter in Upstate New York! With store-bought pesto, quick-cooking chicken, and a […]

If you’ve searched “primary care doctor near Albany NY,” you’re not alone – and you’ve probably noticed how hard it is to tell one PCP from another. As a family doctor for over 7 years, here’s my calmer, more human way to approach the search for your rusted partner in health. Step 1: Get Clear […]

There’s something undeniably special about waking up on Christmas Eve morning – that mix of excitement, calm, and “almost there” anticipation. This baked oatmeal captures all of that in one warm, fragrant dish. The bright touch of a medley of berries wrapped inside cinnamon-kissed oats feels like winter sunshine in a pan (warming up even […]

Welcome!
I'm Dr. Meghan Monthie.
I’m a board-certified family physician who loves caring for families across multiple generations.
But the most important things to know about me can't be found on my resume.
I’m a wife to Phil (an attorney and Albany-area native), mom to two boys - Miles (a curious and delightfully feral toddler) and Henry (his smiley, chill little brother) - and dog mom to Daisy, our Havapoo pandemic pup.
I’m a (semi-retired?) marathoner and triathlete who will always choose cardio over strength training and still dreams of race days once the kids are older (and once my pelvic floor has fully recovered).
Originally from Maryland, I’ve spent my entire adult life in the Capital Region. My winters upstate significantly improved once I picked up skiing and years in New York have made a wimp out of me when it comes to southern humidity, but I’ll make an exception for a visit home with the promise of a proper blue crab feast.
I’m also a proud daughter and granddaughter of South Korean immigrants, whose courage and sacrifices shaped my own core values: perseverance, integrity, gratitude, and faith.
I’m a fellow human in a white coat who also knows mom guilt, late-night doom scrolling, skipped workouts, and all the beautiful chaos (and sleepless nights) of working motherhood.
I care for my patients the way I would care for my own family.
I love being a family doctor, and I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your family's personal doctor.
