Welcome!
I'm Dr. Meghan Monthie.
I’m a board-certified family physician who loves caring for families across multiple generations.
But the most important things to know about me can't be found on my resume.
I’m a wife to Phil (an attorney and Albany-area native), mom to two boys - Miles (a curious and delightfully feral toddler) and Henry (his smiley, chill little brother) - and dog mom to Daisy, our Havapoo pandemic pup.
I’m a (semi-retired?) marathoner and triathlete who will always choose cardio over strength training and still dreams of race days once the kids are older (and once my pelvic floor has fully recovered).
Originally from Maryland, I’ve spent my entire adult life in the Capital Region. My winters upstate significantly improved once I picked up skiing and years in New York have made a wimp out of me when it comes to southern humidity, but I’ll make an exception for a visit home with the promise of a proper blue crab feast.
I’m also a proud daughter and granddaughter of South Korean immigrants, whose courage and sacrifices shaped my own core values: perseverance, integrity, gratitude, and faith.
I’m a fellow human in a white coat who also knows mom guilt, late-night doom scrolling, skipped workouts, and all the beautiful chaos (and sleepless nights) of working motherhood.
I care for my patients the way I would care for my own family.
I love being a family doctor, and I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your family's personal doctor.
Meet Your Doctor
I practice evidence-based medicine - grounded in science, not TikTok trends or modern-day snake oil.
I prioritize prevention, root cause analysis, and lifestyle changes first, but when medications are needed, I use them thoughtfully to support your health and longevity.
I don’t believe in over-testing or over-treating. I’m mindful of your time, energy, and money, and recommend what’s truly useful.
Continuity matters. Knowing you well helps me catch subtle changes, advocate for your goals, and coordinate care across settings. The patient-physician relationship is sacred to me - and I protect it fiercely.
And while I try to practice what I preach, I'm human, too - I have a sweet tooth, I've fallen off the exercise bandwagon, and I doomscroll more than I'd like to admit. So, I meet you where you are - with compassion, not judgment - because we’re both working on becoming our best selves.
You’re the expert of your body;
I’m the expert of primary care.
Together, we meld both of our expertises to create a personalized care plan that makes the most sense for you.
At the heart of it all, this is your healthcare journey.
You deserve to feel heard, supported, and confident in the care that you and your family receive.

My Road to Heirloom
From "What if?" to "Why not?"
My Road to Heirloom
Because I want to be fully present for the people who matter most, even after a long day of taking care of everyone else’s people.
Because they crossed oceans and borders, sacrificing everything they knew in pursuit of a greater future they'd never see.
Because they cheer me on no matter what crazy thing I set my mind to and continue to tirelessly pour buckets of their time and energy into helping me build a life I love.
Because she had no idea how hard the road would be, but her heart and grit carried her through.
Because I see every patient as a person made in God’s image and is worthy of dignity, compassion, and attentive care.
Because you deserve more than 7 rushed minutes and a portal message. You deserve to be known, heard, and cared for like family.
